Our Experience
The executives of ETT and it's predecessors have 45 years of experience in global oil markets. They had the distinction of being the first to import oil to the United States from the former Soviet Union in the early 1970's and China in 1979, establishing themselves as pioneers in the worldwide oil sector. Through the years, ETT has specialized in successfully problem-solving and operating in countries that can be challenging across all fronts - security, operational, logistical, and financial.
ETT has owned and/or operated power plants up to 450 MGW, as well as refineries and chemical plants and tankers, from vics to small coasters, including gas carriers. ETT had a presence in Mozambique during and after the War for Independence and was additionally authorized by PETROMOC to negotiate a crude contract with Iraq after their independence. As specialists in difficult logistical management, they supplied oil to South Africa, Angola and Liberia.
With in-depth knowledge and experience in African countries, ETT has been partners in the largest private oil distribution company in East Africa, with three coast wise vessels, storage in Dar es Salaam and Mombasa and 100 tandem style tanker trucks which supplied Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Malawi, East Zaire, and Zambia, as well as Tanzania and Kenya. In Kenya, when Mobil Oil sold to local interests (becoming Kobil), ETT won the management contract agreement to run the company, including the now defunct Mombasa refinery.
ETT purchased crude from the former Soviet Union, processing it at local refineries, at a service fee, selling some of the end product locally, and transporting the rest through rail to China at the Zabaikalsk- Manzhouli transfer station. Additionally, ETT owned and operated Pavlodar Refinery in Kazakhstan, becoming the only western company to privatize in the country.
